This series conveys the abstract and painterly quality that foliage takes on when viewed close-up against the sky. Observing leaves in this way is not so different from contemplating clouds as they morph into familiar earthly creatures. Looking through the macro lens of a camera and blurring the image, I’ve watched foliage against the backdrop of sky acquire an astonishing array of human and other animal characteristics.
